The negative effects of boarding school.

Introduction Boarding schools are designed to provide students with quality education in a disciplined environment. While they offer certain benefits such as independence and academic focus, they also come with significant drawbacks. Many students face emotional, social, and psychological challenges that can affect their overall developments. One of the major negative effects of boarding school is emotional stress. Children who are separated from their families at a young age often experience homesickness and feelings of loneliness. This emotional distance can also weaken the bond between parents and children, as limited communication reduces family closeness. Another problem is peer pressure and bullying. Since students spend most of their time with peers, they are more exposed to negative influences. Cases of bullying, intimidation, or unhealthy senior–junior relationships can affect a student’s confidence and sense of security. Additionally, the strict structure and high expect...

It's very unfortunate how the Nigerian education system has failed us, especially those of us who studied applied sciences. We were meant to do more than 80% practicals, but we ended up doing 95% theory and 5% practicals.  Today, we find it very difficult to apply the knowledge gained in solving day-to-day problems because we're not rooted in the practical aspect of our area of study.  I laugh at undergraduates undertaking non-professional courses in science in Nigerian universities because you'll end up being like someone who hasn't benefited from the university experience.  Universities in Nigeria should focus more on practicals than theory, which would enable individuals to know where to focus their energy after graduation.

My experience 3years after graduation

Three Years of Uncertainty It's been three years since I graduated from university, but my journey has been far from smooth. Just a few days before my final year exams,  my mother had passed away. The loss was a crushing blow, and it felt like my world had come crashing down around me. I was consumed by grief and struggled to focus on my studies. Despite my best efforts, I couldn't shake off the feeling of emptiness and despair. As a result, I didn't get the chance to participate in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program, which is a rite of passage for many Nigerian graduates. Instead, I found myself struggling to make ends meet, with no clear direction or purpose. I remember the days of frustration and desperation, roaming the streets with no clear plan. It was as if I was stuck in limbo, unable to move forward. But then, something inside me clicked. I realized that I couldn't give up, not now, not ever. With newfound determination, I decided to take a bold st...

In camp SAED experience at Baysela NYSC orientation camp my journey into ICT. Published by nwode Gabriel with state code 2073.

During my time at the NYSC Bayelsa orientation camp, I had the opportunity to attend an ICT class as part of the camp's skill acquisition program. The class was conducted by a knowledgeable instructor who was passionate about teaching us the basics of computer literacy. We started off with learning how to use Microsoft Word for creating documents, formatting text, and inserting images. We then moved on to Excel, where we learned how to create spreadsheets, input data, and perform basic calculations. The instructor also introduced us to PowerPoint, teaching us how to create engaging presentations with slides, images, and animations. I found the ICT class to be extremely beneficial as it equipped me with essential computer skills that are valuable in today's digital world. I was able to enhance my proficiency in using various software programs and improve my overall productivity. The practical hands-on approach of the class helped me understand the concepts better and apply them...
